For 16 years he served as a field veterinary officer in Tana River and Nyeri districts with duties ranging from animal disease control, vector control, veterinary clinical service, extension services and veterinary public health. His role in designing, implementing and supervising a mass vaccination project for 13 districts of Central and Eastern provinces earned him a Certificate of Fellowship from the Kenya Veterinary Association, the professional body of veterinarians

Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Agriculture and a Masters’ degree in Veterinary Epidemiology and Public Health mainly focused on Veterinary Public Health, developing and monitoring livestock production systems and economics for livestock development and policy.
Faith has speciality in livestock/crop production systems, livelihoods and resilience, food security, nutrition sensitive agriculture, agricultural value chains and economics for livestock development and policy with over eight years of experience in a variety of roles in humanitarian and development work in Kenya and South Sudan with non-governmental organizations.

Dr. Diana Onyango is a veterinarian and development specialist with over 21 years of experience driving sustainable development across East Africa. She specializes in animal health, climate-smart agriculture, rural livelihoods and One Health, working at the intersection of food systems, environmental sustainability, and public health. Dr Onyango has led high-impact programs focusing on One Health, sustainable livestock systems, climate change mitigation, and socio-economic development for strengthened food systems and rural economies. Additionally, she has developed key environmental and social risk management frameworks, supporting policymakers and stakeholders in designing resilient agricultural systems. Dr Onyango deeply understands the dynamics of smallholder and livestock production systems in the East Africa region, addressing challenges in livestock productivity, market access, and climate resilience through programs aimed at adopting resilient and profitable agricultural production strategies that enhance food security and livelihoods while promoting environmental sustainability.
